CUPPING

Cupping therapy involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction may facilitate healing by increasing blood flow, promoting relaxation, and relieving pain and inflammation in the muscles and tissues.

What does Cupping therapy do?

Cupping therapy can aid health by:

  1. Increasing blood flow, promoting tissue healing.

  2. Relieving muscle tension, reducing pain.

  3. Detoxifying by stimulating lymphatic drainage.

  4. Boosting immune function.

  5. Improving relaxation and overall well-being.

How is Cupping treatment done?

During cupping therapy:

  1. A practitioner creates suction in glass or silicone cups by heating them or using a vacuum pump.

  2. The cups are then quickly placed on the skin, often on specific acupuncture points or areas of tension.

  3. The suction pulls the skin and underlying tissue upward into the cup, creating a vacuum effect.

  4. The cups may remain stationary or be moved across the skin in a gliding motion.

  5. After a few minutes, the cups are removed, leaving temporary circular marks on the skin known as "cupping marks."

The process is typically painless and can vary in intensity depending on the individual's tolerance and the technique used by the practitioner.
